We are deeply disturbed by the removal of federal funds for our libraries and museums. Libraries are the most generous institutions; ours has been called “the heart of the town.”

They offer knowledge and entertainment to all, regardless of station in life or ability to pay. How can that be considered wasteful? How could anyone consider it less important than giving our money to the uber-rich?

Please keep our intelligent institutions alive, fund them, treasure them.
