Letter: Appalled

I am writing to express my concern regarding a recent Facebook post made by Clatsop County Commissioner Courtney Bangs. As one of her constituents, I am appalled by her behavior.

While Commissioner Bangs is entitled to her personal views, it is crucial that, as a county official, she remains impartial and unbiased in her public communications. Her post undermines the trust and confidence that the public places in our elected officials, and reflects poorly on the integrity of our county’s governance.

Commissioner Bangs needs to be reminded of the importance of maintaining neutrality and accuracy in public statements. Our community deserves representatives who can uphold the values of fairness and integrity, regardless of personal opinions.
