At noon, there will be a conversation to help plan the future of Rainy Day Village on the North Oregon Coast. Treats will be provided, just bring a picnic and a chair or a blanket. On July 16, there is a follow-up meeting at 2 p.m., also at Nehalem City Park.
Rainy Day Village is part of the Village Movement to create ways to support older adults who desire to remain in their homes, allowing them to stay active and engaged in their communities. In early 2019, Rainy Day Village became the 11th village under Villages Northwest, a “hub and spoke” model operating in the Portland area. As a spoke, there is access to the experience of villages in the Northwest.
Rainy Day Village was poised to open with members and volunteers in May 2020, but the launch date has been postponed indefinitely, due to COVID. For information, go to villagesnw.org and vtvnetwork.org
