Jimmie Lee ‘Tiny’ Johnson

Jimmie Lee Johnson, 73, of Warrenton, died Friday, March 31, 2006 in Portland.

Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 22, 1933 in Roseburg to Rosamond and Arthur Johnson.

He graduated from Vancouver High School in Vancouver, Wash., in 1950, and served in the U.S. Army for two years.

He married Betty Y. Bobo in 1957. She survives and lives in Warrenton.

The couple moved to Clatsop County in 1961. Mr. Johnson was an auto body shop owner and manager until retirement in 1995. After retiring, he opened his own collision appraisal business, which he ran until the end of 2005.

He was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Astoria, a lay pastor and a state president and board member of Conservative Baptists Men’s Roundup. He enjoyed RV travel and was a bass guitar player in several local bands.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Johnson is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Marcella Johnson of Corvallis; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Al Crackenberg of Newberg and Tena and Scott Pitka of Portland; one brother and sister-in-law, Keith A. and Sonia Johnson of Brush Prairie, Wash.; and five grandchildren, Peter and Kathryn Crackenberg and Christopher, McKenna and Sierra Wamsley.

A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bible Baptist Church, 1195 Irving Ave. in Astoria.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bible Baptist Church.
