Letter: ‘Questionable character, and no confidence’ justify recall

As a previous city councilor for eight years, I understood your community votes for you because they believe in your integrity and your ability to be trusted.

In this day and age, regardless of your affiliation, both sides of the political isle are crying out for honest politicians who are of good character.

My personal experience with Seamus McVey was clearly a negative one. Trying to have a civil conversation with him about a past recall he was supporting, I was met with a flurry of vile obscenities and anger. No interest in discussion, just angry insults. Facts did not matter; his opinion was all he cared about.

Aside from being a hostile person, he has demonstrated many times that “he has to explain” why he isn’t really who or what he portrays himself as.

Name changes, broken family relationships, an unreported serious criminal history, questionable military service, and misleading claims of “a constituent emailed me” when in fact, it was his roommate (his roommate has verified this).

Too many little lies equal questionable character, and no confidence, when considering him as a Seaside City councilor. Recall Seamus McVey.
