Vote no on the frivolous recall!

I am writing in support of Seaside City Council member Seamus McVey. I have known Seamus for about 10 years, and am grateful he has chosen to serve Seaside on the city council.

I have collaborated with him on the Seaside Budget Committee and Homelessness Task Force. I know him to be a transparent, honest, empathic person who speaks clearly and listens intently. He has always been incredibly open about his life, and how his experiences have furthered his ability to help others.

The best question is what has Seamus done on the city council during his first term. This is a volunteer position requiring hours of study, preparation, attending public events, committee/commission meetings, work sessions and council meetings.

He comes prepared to engage with the community, for the community. He has always been a strong advocate for those experiencing houselessness in our community, and spends time weekly at Stepping Stones interacting with the residents, camp managers and other advocates.

He consistently collaborates with the mayor and other council members to improve Seaside’s infrastructure, parks, public safety and to bring more affordable housing to our community.

I say let Seamus continue to do an excellent job of representing Seaside residents – Vote “no” on recall.
