Brandon Uribe

Columbia Memorial Hospital has announced that Becky White, a surgical services nurse, and Brandon Uribe, a medical surgical nurse, are the most recent recipients of the Diseases Attacking the Immune System (DAISY) Award for extraordinary nurses.

The DAISY Foundation, established in 1999 in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, recognizes nurses who exemplify exceptional care to patients and their families.

White was nominated by the family of a surgical patient who underwent a total hip arthroplasty, setting the patient’s mind at ease, and keeping the family updated. Uribe was nominated for his attentiveness, care and compassion by a patient who spent four days under his care at Columbia Memorial.

Both White and Uribe will be featured on the DAISY Foundation website, and will have the opportunity to apply for additional scholarships as part of their recognition.
