A harbor seal at the Seaside Aquarium is a TikTok star, going viral with over 2 million views, after Kim Fragoso captured a video of him on Nov. 8, flagrantly hinting for some treats with “puppy dog eyes.” The little eight-second video was even mentioned in Newsweek.

In the video, as she’s walking by him, she says, “Um, yes sir,” to the seal — as the camera zooms to a sign saying, “Seal Food $2 per Tray” — “I am buying you the food. He’s getting it for me right now.”

Apparently, even though the aquarium’s seals are fed regularly, their clever begging techniques are self-taught.

“These hams really enjoy what they are doing, and have developed their tricks on their own,” the aquarium says on their website. And their tricks are highly effective. (Screenshot: Kim Fragoso)
