LONG BEACH, Wash. – The featured artist at Rainy Day Gallery is mosaic artist Dorene Schmitz.

Schmitz studied at Clatsop Community College and has since been refining a style that invokes color and spark to an array of objects.

Her mosaic pieces blend with other Gallery artists, such as Karen Bain’s copper sculptures, Marilyn Casey’s driftwood paintings, and Jill Merrill’s silk screen pieces.

Rainy Day Gallery, 600 S. Pacific Highway in downtown Long Beach, also has a selection of gift items for this season. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday and noon to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday. For more information, call (360) 642-3959.
