Three authors reveal mid-life epiphanies

CANNON BEACH – The Cannon Beach Arts Association presents its 2002-03 lecture series starting Sept. 21.

The first program involves local and Portland authors Gail Balden, Carol Ann Curthoys and Jeanne Faulkner at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce, 207 N. Spruce. They will read from “Midlife Clarity: Epiphanies from Grown-Up Girls,” a collection of essays by several women.

A variety of poets and fiction writers from Portland, local musicians and researchers will read, perform and play for the community throughout the year.

The lecture series pass is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers and can be purchased at the Cannon Beach Arts Association Gallery, 1064 S. Hemlock, and the Cannon Beach Book Company, 130 N. Hemlock, suite No. 2. A pass can also be ordered by mail: CBAA, P.O. Box 684, 1064 Hemlock, Cannon Beach, OR 97110. Patrons mailing their order should include a check for $20 or $25 per pass, their address and phone number.

Tickets at the door for the individual events are $6 for members, $7 for nonmembers. Ticket prices may vary for each event. Tickets can be bought one week in advance at the Cannon Beach Arts Association Gallery and the Cannon Beach Book Company. For more information, call (503) 436-0744.
