Mike and Laura Brosius own the historic Queen Anne-style Gustavus Holmes House, built in 1892. They have been lovingly restoring the city landmark with a sharp eye on detail and accuracy.
The latest project, featured both in an article and on the cover of the March/April edition of Old House Journal, involved discovering a patch of historic linoleum in the kitchen, then painstakingly recreating and restoring the entire floor by painting vinyl stickers that had been made with a to-scale outline of the linoleum pattern.

“We were blessed to find such talented artists who could do his project,” Mike Brosius noted. “Laura, Faith and Christy worked for about five continuous weeks on the floor, doing this one of many projects on the restoration of the Gustav Holmes house.”
