Applications are open for the medical assistant internship program with Columbia Memorial Hospital and the Oregon Health and Science University Health Medical Group. The next intern cohort will start in June.

Interns will be full-time employees of the hospital and will be eligible for benefits. The program is a paid six-month internship made up of half classroom instruction through the U.S. Career Institute and half hands-on training in clinics.

The final phase involves taking a national exam to become a certified clinical medical assistant. Upon successful completion of the course, interns will have the opportunity to transfer into a full-time or part-time Medical Assistant 1 position, with a one-year work commitment.
