Letter: Playing with dynamite

“Always avoid violence; in this age of charity and kindliness, the time has gone by for such things. Leave dynamite to the low and unrefined.” — Mark Twain
While I was vacationing in Arizona, a big news story was Tesla cars and dealerships across the nation being burned or attacked by coordinated efforts of domestic terrorists.
Sadly, two Oregon Tesla dealerships have been savagely attacked by thugs since the Trump administration began its policy of making government more efficient. It makes one wonder about the mentality of those who choose to commit such repugnant acts.
I also wonder about those Americans who promote such terrorism. Do they realize the end result of such mayhem? Many state pension funds, including Oregon’s Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), have hundreds of millions of dollars in Tesla stock, which now is losing value.
Some Democrat politicians are actually calling for more pressure to be put on Elon Musk’s car company. I doubt they care about retirees like me, and how our monthly checks are directly tied to Tesla.
I’m astonished that all citizens aren’t supportive of a more efficient government. Musk not only makes cars and rockets; he is working on technology to make the blind see, and the immobile to access computers with only their mind.
Making a federal government that is more efficient seems child’s play in comparison to those accomplishments Mr. Musk has already delivered.
I just hope Americans can soon figure out who’s saving the nation, and who’s playing with dynamite.
