The Port of Astoria has been on a healthy trajectory these last several years, having long since departed from the acrimony and infighting that characterized the Port commission prior to Mr. Rohne’s joining.

Dirk’s experience on the planning commission, Clatsop Community College board and Clatsop County commission prior to his election to the Port commission are longstanding testimony to his ability to work collaboratively with other elected officials to achieve results that benefit the entire community.

Dirk grew up in the same community of Knappa as our children, and was in the same class as our son. He was a leader in FFA and student body government, and it was evident then that he had a strong work ethic and solid leadership skills.

It’s good to see your kids and their classmates go on to contribute to their community in meaningful ways and in these acrimonious times, it’s refreshing to fully support someone whom you know is both civil and productive.

That’s why we are voting for Dirk Rohne for reelection to the Port of Astoria Commission, and encourage you to do the same!
