Block parties celebrate Head Start anniversary

Clatsop County’s three Head Start preschool centers will hold simultaneous block parties at 5 p.m. Wednesday to celebrate 50 years of the federally funded preschool program.
Head Start provides subsidized preschool to more than 160 low-income 3- to 5-year-olds in the county.
The parties include food, activities and blocks to build with.
Astoria’s Head Start center is on the first floor of Capt. Robert Gray School, 785 Alameda Ave. Warrenton’s is at 200 S.W. Third St., next to the Warrenton Community Center. Seaside’s is at 1225 Second Ave., next to Broadway Park.
