Goonies Day set for June 7

The Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce is planning to recognize “Goonies Day” June 7. The day has been declared officially by Astoria Mayor Willis Van Dusen.
Chamber leaders are working with the Clatsop County Historical Society and Oregon Film Museum to plan the weekend.
The schedule of activities for June 7 and June 8 will include:
Tours of the Goonies House.
Setting a record for the most people doing the truffle shuffle.
Hearing from Mick Alderman about his experiences during filming.
Anyone with stories to share about their interaction with Hollywood in 1984 is asked to contact the chamber at 503-325-6311.
Businesses are being asked to mark the occasion. Anyone with ideas, or who would like to participate, is asked to contact Regina Willkie, marketing manager for the chamber.
