Winners announced in Miss Vivian event

The 10th annual fundraiser competition by local coffee houses and bars came to a close Sept. 21 at the Astor Street Opry Company Playhouse with the announcement of the grand prize winners, who collectively raised more than $5,000 for the community theater organization, and were crowned 2013 Miss Vivian and Miss Virginia.

Sponsored by the Logger Restaurant, Napa Auto Parts of Warrenton, Hipfish and Old Town Framing Company, the grand winner for the Miss Vivian competition was the Baked Alaska Lounge representative, Mark Barsekian, who also won best Miss Vivian Cocktail and Shanghaied Trap Door Tales.
In second place for Miss Vivian was Gad Perez from Fort George, who also took home third place in the Shanghaied Trap Door Tales. Third place went to Janine Pickering of the Labor Temple.
Graham Warren from Beach N Brew of Seaside won second place in Miss Vivian Cocktail, while Bobby Higginbotham of Rogue Ales Public House won second place in Shanghaied Trap Door Tales and third place in Miss Vivian Cocktail.

Brooke Doolittle and Dawna Reynolds represented the morning shift of Kick Ass Coffee, and won Miss Virginia 2013 and best Miss Virginia Love Story, while second place for both went to their evening shift co-workers, Jessica Krotzer and Mandi March.
Best Miss Virginia Sweet Coffee Drink was won by Coffee Girls Marten Boyden, and second place winners were Carly Lackner and Leah Cristaldi of 3 Cups Coffee, who also received third place as Miss Virginia. Third place for both the coffee drink and love story went to Shane Dickson of the Rusty Cup.
