For the seventh year in a row, Finland is the world’s happiest country in the 2024 World Happiness Report, which was revealed on March 20, International Day of Happiness.
Four other Nordic countries are pretty joyful, as well, including Denmark (second place), Iceland (third place), Sweden (fourth place) and Norway (seventh place). By the way, the U.S. came in at No. 23.
“Happiness doesn’t just — happen,” the Finland.fi website said. “Countries can take steps to encourage it. Research shows life satisfaction correlates with a well-functioning society that provides healthcare, social security and labor market access … Happiness should be a policy goal … ”
