Weddings: Nelson – Savage

April Christina Nelson, of Seaside, daughter of Ken and Roxanna Nelson and John and Rebecca Greenway, all of Astoria, exchanged wedding vows with Jonathan Keith Savage, of Raymondville, Texas, at 6 p.m. Jan. 12, 2008, at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds in Astoria. The groom is the son of Richard and Vivian Savage of Raymondville.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Ken Nelson. Ron Tremain performed the ceremony.

The bride wore an Oleg Cassini strapless satin gown, featuring Alencon lace, hand sewn pearls and crystals on tulle overlay and a lace-trimmed tulle veil with hand sewn pearls and crystals. The bride wore a crystal American Flag pin under the tulle of her dress to show support for her soon-to-be brother-in-law over in Iraq.

Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Tracy Birdeno of Astoria. Bridesmaids were Melissa Moore of Tillamook, Desiree Spreen of St. Helens and Heidi Terese of Warrenton.

Groomsmen were Ryan Long of Dallas, Texas, Kyle Kutzenburger of College Station, Texas, Mac Kutzenburger of Bryan, Texas, Brandon Blair of Harlingen, Texas, Clifton Blair of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Tony Lewis of Arlington, Texas.

The bride graduated from Warrenton High School and attended Clatsop Community College in Astoria. She works for The Daily Astorian.

The groom is a graduate of South Harlingen High School in Harlingen. He is a flight mechanic with the U.S. Coast Guard.

A reception was held at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds.

The couple honeymooned on a Mexican Riviera Cruise.

The couple resides in Seaside.
