A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, in Hinson Memorial Baptist Church for Isobel L. Thiessen, who died May 1 of congestive heart failure at age 88.

Isobel L. Hale was born May 16, 1919, in Brady, Mont. She was a homemaker who held several jobs, including dental assistant and caterer. She also worked at Waverly Children’s Home and the Cannon Beach Conference Center. She lived most of her life in Portland and moved to Cannon Beach in 2005. In 1951, she married Edwin N. Thiessen; he died in 1993.

Survivors include her daughters, Carol L. Thiessen and Cherryl A. Franco; son, Ron N.; and six grandchildren.
