Brenten Salisbury, 19-year-old son of David and Shari Salisbury of Astoria, recently completed Phase One of the Air Land Emergency Resource Team (ALERT) training program at the International ALERT Academy in Big Sandy, Texas, to become an ALERT responder.
His parents told the Ear that Salisbury received awards in Scripture Memory, Personal Excellence, and Physical Training Excellence. He will continue with Emergency Response Training and participate in disaster relief, rescue work and service projects as opportunities arise.
The final phase of ALERT is Advanced Training, concentrated training in trades, which is designed to enable students to support their present or future ministry and become assets to their future employers and valuable members of their communities.
