Owners of historic homes damaged by the recent storm will find information on how to make repairs at the office of the Lower Columbia Preservation Society, 1170 Commercial St., Suite 210.

The group is opening its library to the public and sending out an extra issue of its Restoria Newsletter devoted to repairing historic homes after storm damage, said LCPS member John Goodenberger.

Copies of the newsletter will be available at the LCPS office, which is open Mondays from 3 to 7 p.m. or by appointment by calling President Pam Alegria at 325-8024 or Goodenberger at 325-0209. The office houses the library, which contains books on architectural details and repair and design of historic buildings.

Goodenberger said the group is working with a carpenter who will submit drawings with details on how to make Craftsman-style roofs more resistant to being blown off by the wind.
