In One Ear: Seaside Safeway helps Lunch Buddy program

Published 4:00 pm Thursday, February 15, 2007

The Seaside SAFEWAY has raised $4,300 for the LUNCH BUDDY mentoring program through donations. Lunch buddies meet with local children at school for one hour a week and have lunch with them, either bringing a lunch or buying a cafeteria meal. They chat about the child’s school experience, family and friends and become a friend. The program is for students from John Jacob Astor, Cannon Beach, Gearhart, Lewis and Clark and Seaside Heights elementary schools, Warrenton Grade School and Broadway Middle School.
