Weddings: Nelson-Koehnke

Nelson-KoehnkeJuliann Nelson of Astoria, daughter of Ken and Janine Nelson of Astoria, exchanged vows with Daniel Koehnke of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dec. 31 at a private home in Lewis and Clark. The groom is the son of Kurt and Debbie Koehnke of Canby.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Municipal Judge Cindee Matyas performed the ceremony. The bride wore a full-length white gown with chapel train accented with silver ice floral beading on the bodice and train.

Maid of honor was sister of the bride Kaylene Nelson of Beaverton. Bridesmaids were Taryn Arnold of Corvallis, Hannah Cross of Astoria and Stephanie Olson of Warrenton.

Best man was brother of the groom Chris Koehnke of Monmouth. Groomsmen were Daniel Gotschall, Adam Koehnke and Nate Whisnant, all of Astoria.

The bride graduated from

Astoria High School in 2003. She works at PCC and is enrolled at Western Oregon University, studying to be a dental assistant.

The groom graduated from Astoria High School in 2003. He is in the U.S. Army at Fort Carson, Colo.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Elliott Hotel.

A honeymoon to Hawaii is planned for a later date.

They plan to make their home in Colorado Springs, Colo.
