OYSTERVILLE, Wash. – Pastor Barbara Bate of the Grays River United Methodist Church will officiate at the vespers service in the church in Oysterville, Wash., at 3 p.m. Sunday. Performing will be “The Two Barbaras” and “Peninsula Strings,” under the direction of Barbara Poulshock.
The congregation will join in the singing of hymns accompanied by the pump organ, played by Jeanne Bellinger.
This is the fifth of the 2004 summer series of ecumenical vespers services, which are sponsored by the Oysterville Restoration Foundation and endorsed by the Long Beach Peninsula Church Council. There is no charge and everyone is welcome.
The donations received from the offering baskets will help fund the upkeep and general maintenance of the historic Victorian church and the antiquated pump organ.
