Marjorie L. Burr

Seaside resident, 83Marjorie L. Burr, 83, of Portland, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004 in Portland.

Mrs. Burr was born March 24, 1921 in Portland to Willard and Lillian (Thomas) Nelson. Her parents established the first resort in Seaside, Nelson’s Tent City. She spent many summers at the beach in Seaside.

Mrs. Burr married John Burr in 1948. They moved to Seaside in 1992. He died in 2003.

She graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

Mrs. Burr is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Davidson of Beaverton and Charlene McArthur of Malibu, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Marianne Davidson of Beaverton and Laura Lynn Davidson of Los Angeles.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
