Nancy ‘Nanny’ Alice Moffitt

Seaside resident, 82Nancy “Nanny” Alice Moffitt, 82, of Seaside, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2004 in Seaside.

Mrs. Moffitt was born March 28, 1922 in Plymouth, N.C., to Dock F. and Virginia (Swaim) Marriner.

Mrs. Moffitt graduated from Plymouth High School in 1942. In 1943, she married John Moffitt in South Mills, N.C.

Family members said she enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. She also liked to play cards.

Mrs. Moffitt is survived by two daughters, Lynda Backer of Seaside and Darlene Chisholm of Gearhart; one grandson, Chris Meyer of Seaside; five granddaughters, Jody Osbourn, Kimberly Chisholm and Lori Rich, all of Gearhart, and Amy and Angie Chisholm, both of San Diego, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, Trenten, Dylan and Emma Meyer, Tanner and Gavin Rich and Jessica Chisholm; and one sister, Eva Minton of Plymouth, N.C.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hughes-Ransom Cremation and Mortuaries in Seaside. A committal service will follow at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
