The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society of the Two-Year College has honored Clatsop Community College’s Pi Phi Chapter for achieving the Pinnacle Scholarship Chapter level. The $100 Pinnacle Scholarship was awarded in recognition of the 10 percent increase in PTK membership at CCC.
The Pi Phi Chapter received this award last year as well, and if members receive it again next year they will qualify for the Pinnacle Gold Award, which would include a trophy and a $100 stipend to be used for chapter scholarships.
The PTK hallmarks are scholarship, fellowship, service and leadership. Membership in PTK encourages students to achieve in these areas, and promotes recognition for their accomplishments. The purpose of the Pinnacle Scholarship Program is to help PTK chapters communicate more effectively the benefits of membership to students who qualify. To join the PTK Honor Society, students must have completed 24 credits toward their degree, with a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher.
