Bornstein Seafoods, Astoria Pacific Seafoods fined for wastewater violations

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality announced Tuesday that Bornstein Seafoods and Astoria Pacific Seafoods were fined for wastewater violations.
Bornstein was fined $32,000 after its seafood processing facility on Portway Street violated technology-based effluent limits. The state reported that from April to July, Bornstein exceeded guidelines a total of 41 times.
Astoria Pacific Seafoods was fined $10,200 because of violations from its facility on Pier 2. From August 2020 to June, the state reported that the company exceeded guidelines 51 times.
