Softball: Clatsop Clash wins state title

The Clatsop Clash youth softball team won a state championship last weekend.
Taking part in the 12B USA softball state tournament, the Clash went undefeated (5-0) to win the trophy, defeating the Oregon Blaze 14-2 in the championship game. The team also scored wins over the Roseburg Indians, West Linn Lions and Oregon Titans, in addition to two wins over the Blaze.
Comprised of players from Clatsop County, the Clash will finish their summer season at the North American Fastpitch Association 12B Nationals, July 20 to July 23 in Newberg.
Coached by Nicole Sturgell and assisted by Chris Corder, team members include Teagan Bryan, Keeli Card, Allie Corder, Kameryn Israel, Natalie Laug, Jahzara Marshall, Khloe Painter, Tiera Spivey and Berkley Sturgell.
