Fire crews respond to a fire at Tolovana Inn.

CANNON BEACH — Dozens of visitors were displaced Sunday morning after a fire at the Tolovana Inn.

The fire alarm at the hotel off of S. Hemlock Street activated after 2 a.m., and fire crews were advised that there was smoke in several rooms.

Cannon Beach Rural Fire Protection District, with the help of several other area fire departments, found heavy smoke in the basement and was able to contain the fire to a single room and prevent further spread.

About 35 people were displaced by the fire. No injuries were reported.

“We would like to thank all of our assisting police and fire agencies for helping us keep this potentially catastrophic fire from growing,” the Cannon Beach fire district said in a statement.
