Acupuncture

Karen Kaufman will explain the techniques and benefits of acupuncture and will give a demonstration of how the process is done. Kaufman is a licensed acupuncturist, certified in Chinese herbology, and has a Ph.D. in psychology.

American Legion Dinner

Hispanic Voices

Patricia Aguilar Morrissey and Eileen Purcell will discuss their work on their oral history of the Hispanic community of Clatsop County, which was published in the book The Latinos of Clatsop County in 2012. Jorge Gutierrez, the director of the Lower Columbia Hispanic Council, will moderate the discussion.

Painting Class

The class offers an array of options. Students work independently on the various problem-solving assignments, will take turns providing refreshments and can work on their own in the studio following class. No experience needed. The classic play by Henrik Ibsen is significant for its critical attitude toward 19th-century marriage norms. Beach Cleanup

Take part in the monthly Treasure the Beach cleanup with the city of Seaside, Beach Drive Buccaneers and the Seaside Downtown Development Association and help keep Seaside beaches clean and beautiful. Cleanups take place the first Saturday of each month. Meet at Seashore Inn on the Beach, 60 N. Prom. Parking is available along Broadway, the public parking garage on Avenue A, the public parking lot on First Avenue and other city streets.

Seed Exchange

Come and swap herb, vegetable, flower and native plant seeds and information with other gardeners and listen to talks about seed saving and other gardening topics. Its a good idea to test older seeds for viability before offering them.

Home Repair Workshop

The Home Repair and Maintenance workshop, offered by Clatsop Community College, introduces attendees to basic hand and power tool safety. The class is six hours and will cover picture, shelf and curtain rod hanging; how to unclog a sink and fix a leaky faucet; fix drywall holes, and painting.

Gearhart Art Walk

Trails End Art Center refurbishing is complete, and the gallery will celebrate with a First Saturday Art Walk reception featuring an exhibit of local artists work in many types of media, creating a wide variety of art pieces for display. Some artists will be attending to discuss their works. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited. The exhibit continues through Feb. 22.

This Is Your Life
