Underneath the chandelier of the McTavish Room, Susan Forrester and Nizar Rana were married in a 6 p.m. Dec. 22 ceremony in the Liberty Theater. Forresters attendant was her brother, Harrison. Ranas attendants were his brothers, Suhail and Anzaar. Erin Picken of Pendleton was flower girl. Officiant was Sara Wisti of the Universal Life church.

Forresters parents are Steve Forrester and Brenda Penner of Astoria. Ranas parents are Noorddin and Zarine Rana of Nagpur, India.

Reunions within the two extended families drew wedding guests from Pendleton, Coos Bay, Eugene, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Nagpur, India. Music for the ceremony was provided by a violin and cello. Dancing following dinner went up a notch when Suhail Rana provided the D.J., John Chapman, with Bollywood dance music.

The couple resides in Oakland, where Nizar Rana is employed by Wells Fargo. Susan Forrester Rana attained her masters degree in International Management from Portland State University two weeks prior to the wedding.
