Dr. Kevin Baxter and Jackilyn Baxter of Astoria announce the engagement of their daughter, Malysa Morgan Baxter of Portland, to Erik Raymond Paulson, also of Portland. He is the son of Capt. Mark Paulson and Shannon Paulson of Astoria.

The bride-to-be graduated from Astoria High School in 2010. She is attending the University of Portland as a student nurse, and expects to graduate and become a registered nurse in 2014.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2010 graduate of Astoria High School, and is a computer science student at the University of Portland with an expected graduation in 2014. His commissioning as a U.S. Air Force 2nd lieutenant will in December 2014.

A July 19 wedding is planned at the Liberty Theater.
