This ought to scare the dickens out of you: A 3-D FRUIT PRINTER. At the Tech Food Hack (which sounds scary all by itself) this year in England, Gizmag.com reported on the complicated process (http://tinyurl.com/3Dfroot). A photo of a 3-D printed raspberry is shown.
The frankenfruit printer was created by DOVETAILED (www.dovetailed.co), a self-described “design studio and innovation lab.” The designers there say they can 3-D print apples and pears, or “user-invented combined fruits” within seconds, and you can customize their taste, texture, size and shape. Yikes.
