Florence Link, 88, of Astoria, died Saturday, June 24, 2006, in Astoria.
She was born to Robert and Marietta (Tryon) Miller Nov. 4, 1917, in Lyons, Neb. She was raised in Iowa, but relocated to Long Beach, Wash., in 1935, where she graduated from high school.
She married Lennard Link March 3, 1937, in South Bend, Wash. They relocated to Astoria, and in 1941 built their home in the Lewis and Clark area. He died in 1964.
Mrs. Link was a floral designer for more than 30 years, working at Warrenton Florist and Erickson Floral Co.
She was a 4-H leader in Clatsop County. Family members said that she loved to spend time in her gardens and enjoyed the wildlife in her back yard.
Mrs. Link is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Link of Astoria; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Carol Link of Astoria; three granddaughters and their husbands, Tristen and Richard Berg of Salem, Cari and Jason Jones of Astoria, and Tina and Mark Nicholson of Knappa; a grandson and his wife, Torrey and April Link of Hermiston; a sister, Roberta Helligso of Astoria; two great-grandsons; four great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Robert and John Miller; and a sister, Rose Kemp.
There will be a public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary in Astoria.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ocean View Cemetery in Warrenton.
