Maddox Dance Studio in Warrenton starts its 56th year of instruction this fall with a professional faculty of nine dance teachers, including Lisa Sundstrom, who trained at Maddox until age 17, when she was accepted to the American Ballet Theatre Company and later the Pennsylvania Ballet Company.

Sundstrom also taught at The Rock arts academy and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet.

Student Sabrina Barbic, 13, will be leaving for Eagle Performing Arts Academy in Boise, Idaho, under a full scholarship. She will join her sister, Eliza Barbic Finch, a former member of the Idaho Ballet and a dance teacher in Boise. Barbic, who has studied at Maddox since age 4, will be placed in the professional training division of the company.

Hip-hop: Kylie Toftemark, Astoria, and Hanna Webster, Raymond, Wash.

Lyrical: Victoria Moyer, Astoria, and Grace Zimmerman, Grays River, Wash.
