Attempted theft At 9:24 a.m. Thursday, Astoria police got a report that a man came into Astoria Ford, 710 W. Marine Drive, and demanded the keys to a vehicle, then left, but came back later to make the same demand. Police arrested Daniel Valdez Zermano, 25, address unknown, for attempted first-degree theft, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and possession of forged documents. He was lodged at Clatsop County Jail.

Burglary At 8:59 p.m. Thursday, Astoria police began investigating a burglary at a home in the 600 block of 39th Street. Liquor, a television and a DVD player were taken.

Assault reported At 11:39 p.m. Sunday, Seaside police reported unknown people allegedly attacked two men for no apparent reason at South Franklin Street and Broadway. One man was transported to Providence Seaside Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police were unable to locate any suspects.
