CANNON BEACH – The Coaster Theatre holds auditions for its fall show, “Lend Me a Tenor,” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 15, at the theater, 108 N. Hemlock St. in Cannon Beach.

The show, by Ken Ludwig, is an uproarious farce that takes place in 1934 on the biggest night in the history of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company. World-famous tenor Tito Morelli is to perform the title role in “Otello” at the gala season opening. Morelli arrives too late to rehearse with the company, and through a series of mishaps, a double dose of tranquilizers and mistaken identities, there are now two Otellos!

“Tenor” runs Sept. 29 through Oct. 28. Steve Smith directs. There are roles for four women and four men, ages 20s to 60s. Anyone interested should be at the theater as close to 6:30 p.m. as possible. Interested individuals who cannot make the audition date may call (503) 436-0609 to make other arrangements.
