Early Results Show Hales Ahead In Portland Mayor’s Race

Early results in the Portland mayor’s race show Charlie Hales beating Jefferson Smith 62-30, with nearly 8 percent of voters casting write-in-ballots.

These initial results, released by Multnomah County officials shortly after polls closed on Tuesday, include votes submitted earlier in the race, when fewer than 46 percent of ballots had been cast.
