Kathryn (Katy) Bard died Feb. 4, 2012 in Portland, OR. Katy was born April 1, 1933 in Newport, OR. to parents Lester Richard Yoder and Nora Violet (Adams) Yoder.

Katy married Glenn Bard, Jan. 24, 1954, in Forest Grove, OR. He survives in Seaside. The couple has resided in Seaside since 1956.

Katy was a bookkeeper and organist for many local churches and for Hughes Ransom Mortuary. She belonged to the Cannon Beach Presbyterian Church; Sunset Empire Orchid Society, Ceramics Association and volunteered at the Providence Hospital gift shop.

Katy enjoyed ceramics, painting, travel, growing orchids and playing the organ. She also played field hockey.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Bard, Seaside; daughter, Susan Bard, Olney; son, Richard Bard, Seaside and daughter, Patricia (Patti) Mitchell-Bard, Spokane, WA.

A memorial will be held Feb. 22, 2012 at the Cannon Beach Presbyterian Church in Cannon Beach, 3 – 4 p.m. A reception will follow at the Seaside Volunteer Fire Department in Seaside.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Providence Seaside Hospital gift shop or the Seaside Food Bank in care of Hughes Ransom Mortuary, Seaside.
