Football: Scappoose 28, Seaside 13

SEASIDE The Seaside football team gave Scappoose its toughest challenge yet in league play, but the Indians still left Broadway Field with a 28-13 win over the Gulls in a Cowapa League contest Friday.

A few big runs by Seaside sophomore Calvin Pollard set up the first score of the game, a touchdown pass to Lucas Clark.

Scappoose rallied with a score, an interception and another touchdown late in the first quarter to build a 14-7 lead.

Seaside managed a third quarter score following an interception by Andrew Owens, but the Indians answered with two more of their own to pull away.

Scappoose junior Carson Davison ran for 146 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, while quarterback Taylor Loss completed 15-of-23 passes for 211 yards for three touchdowns. He was intercepted twice.

Teammate Paul Revis had eight catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
