The donation, received by the Clatsop Community College Foundation, will be used in the college’s maritime training programs, allowing the college to meet training requirements for future mariners.
Vigor Shipyard facilitated the launch and transport logistics, and Tidewater Barge Lines towed the vessel down the Columbia River to the college’s Marine and Environmental Research and Training Station campus.
“This collaborative effort underscores the maritime community’s commitment to education and safety,” added Capt. Michael Lee, maritime science instructor. “We look forward to the enhanced training opportunities this lifeboat will provide.”
