Napavine Funtime Festival Begins

The 36th annual Napavine Funtime Festival will be held Friday through Sunday in Napavine.

Friday night at 7 p.m., the new Princess Napawinah will be coronated at the Napavine Amphitheater, with a teen dance to follow at 9 p.m.

Breakfast in the Rebekah Lodge starts the festivities off at 7 a.m. Saturday. The parade begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the downtown area followed by a Cal Ripken League Rookie Tournament at 1 p.m. in Napavine City Park. Other events on Saturday are: BBQ Cook Off from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Diaper Derby at 12:30 p.m.; a movie under the stars at 8:30 p.m. in the Napavine Amphitheater; with fireworks ending the evening at 10 p.m. Sundays highlights are a car show starting at 7 a.m. and a church service at 10 a.m. in the amphitheater.

Cascade Country Cook-Off at Stan Hedwall Park

The annual Cascade Country Cook-off will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Stan Hedwall Park in Chehalis.

Enjoy food samples, barbecue demos, displays and watch barbecue teams duke it out for $5,000 in cash and prizes.

Tires Inc. Cascade Car Show at Stan Hedwall Park

Rain or shine, the Tires Inc. Cascade Car Show will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Registration for show-day entries is from 9:30 a.m. each day.

All types of vehicles from rusty to fully restored classics are welcome. Registration is $25 per vehicle for both days or $15 per vehicle for one day.

Admission to the public is free, and the event runs at the same time as the Cascade Country Cook-Off Barbecue Competition and Best Barbecue Burger Battle.

Prime Time Players Reunion Show at Lucky Eagle Casino

The Prime Time Players will play a reunion show in benefit of Popes Kids Place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester.

Tickets are $35 and available in advance at Popes Kids Place, John L. Scott Realty in Centralia or Twin Cities Trading Post in Chehalis.

Euro Camp Car Show at Southwest Washington Fairgrounds

The gates will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday for the second-annual Euro Camp car show at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds in Chehalis.

Family activities include a coloring contest, bouncy castle, design your own button, face painting, arts and crafts, a movie room and a community canvas painting project. Other events include a cake eating contest at 12:30 p.m., an unofficial dog show at 2 p.m. and raffles at 3 p.m. Trophies will be handed out at 3:45 p.m.

Chris Guenther at The All In Tavern

Chris Guenther and the Honky Tonk Drifters will play a country music show from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday at the All In Tavern in Onalaska. No cover will be charged.

The HASC Open Horse and Game Show will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the horse arena at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds in Chehalis.

Antique Quilt Show at Lewis County Historical Museum

An antique quilt show and festival will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Lewis County Historical Museum in Chehalis. Admission is free.

Civil War Sesquicentennial at Veterans Memorial Museum

See firsthand what life was like for Civil War soldiers and citizens in 1861 on Saturday and Sunday at the Veterans Memorial Museum. Admission is $3 per person at the gate, which includes access to the museum, encampment and the 10 a.m. presentation on the Battle of Bull Run.

The two-day event will include a skirmish re-enactment of the Battle of Bull Run and Civil War food, fashion and music.

Tour Borst Home at Fort Borst Park

The Borst Home, built in the early 1860s and home to pioneer Joseph Borst, will be open for tours from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Located in scenic Fort Borst Park, it was considered to be the finest home between Forts Steilacoom and Vancouver.

Centralia-Chehalis Elks Car Show

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fairway Center presents the Centralia-Chehalis Elks Car Show in front of the Elks Lodge at 1732 S. Gold St. Music is by WOLFMAN. Bike rodeo and raffles are included. The first 50 cars to register get dash plaques.

The ever-popular annual Pioneer Pie Social will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at the historic Claquato Church.

Activities will include an egg salad sandwich lunch and apple pie slices for sale, raffles, an egg toss, chicken bingo and music with Rosie and the Posers. Miss Lewis County will make an appearance, and Wade Samuelson and Bobbie Jackson will be auctioning off pies.
