BR 15/14s: Centralia 15s Advance to District Title Game

ABERDEEN Centralia ran its run total to 50 over four games here over the weekend in the 15-year-old District 3 Babe Ruth Tournament.

The Hub City All-Stars who won their opener 19-0 over Aberdeen on Friday beat Hoquiam 10-1 on Saturday, and then topped South Thurston 14-0 and Mount St. Helens 7-0 on Sunday to improve to 4-0 in the tournament. The wins gave the team an automatic berth in the tournament finals at 8 p.m. tonight, at Aberdeens Pioneer Park.
Zach Wood pitched all seven innings and allowed five hits in Saturdays game, helping his own cause with a pair of triples. Ty Housden had three hits and Joe Blaser and Derek Putman each had two hits for Centralia.
Baylor Scott, Housden and Chuck McKeever each had two hits in the South Thurston win Sunday morning, with McKeever blasting a home run in the fourth inning and Blaser getting the win on the mound. Cody Cleeves hit a double for South Thurston.

Centralia managed just five hits in the 7-0 win over Mount St. Helens, but the defense turned three double plays and Patrick Neeley and Maxx Waring combined to toss a three-hitter.
Blaser had two hits, and McKeever, Neeley and Jordan Mills each added a hit for Centralia, while Gabe Hall, Trevor Lawrence and Gage Medill each had a hit for Mount St. Helens.
14-Year-Olds
Centralia topped Aberdeen 6-4 on Saturday, and then beat East Grays Harbor 11-7 and Hoquiam 12-9 on Sunday to improve to 3-1 in the pool play portion of the 14-year-old District 3 Babe Ruth Tournament.
Jacob Monohon, Gavin Kerner and Kyle Hellund each had two hits in the win over Aberdeen, with Max Dulin tossing 6 ? innings to get the victory.
In Sundays first game, Monohon went 3 for 4 with an RBI and scored 3 runs, while John Sharkey had 2 hits.
Gavin Kerner and Monohon each had two hits in Sundays nightcap, with Amery Pambid going 1 for 2 with an RBI.
Centralia will take today off, and then play at noon Tuesday against the No. 3 pool play seed in the tournament semifinals.
