SEASIDE A Celiac Disease Awareness Walk will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday on the Prom in Seaside. The event was organized by Hannah Garhofer, Miss Sunset Empires Outstanding Teen 2011, who was diagnosed with the condition at age 9 and has selected Celiac Disease Awareness as her personal platform during her year of service.

The Celiac Disease Foundation is providing T-shirts for a donation which will go toward the Foundation. In addition, Garhofer will have handouts on dealing with the condition for both children and adults. She has been working on a celiac disease cookbook for the past year.

Garhofer is an eighth-grader at Broadway Middle School and will be competing in the Miss Oregons Outstanding Teen competition in July. She is active in sports and dance and desires to become an attorney.
