North Coast beach soccer tournament to be held on Seaside beach

Seaside Beach will be the site of the first major amateur beach soccer tournament to be held on the North Coast. Scheduled for June 5-6, the event will have adult and youth divisions of 32 teams each, bringing nearly 600 event participants as well as referees, timekeepers, family members and general spectators. Seaside Chamber of Commerce representatives speculate that several thousand people will make their way to Seaside for the soccer tournament.

“We are excited to be creating this event,” said Alan Smiles, executive director of the chamber.

“Beach soccer is tremendously popular on the East Coast and in many foreign countries. This tournament will help present Seaside to a new audience that will benefit the city and city businesses.”

Business sponsorship opportunities are open and range from $1,000 to $1,500 with a guarantee of exclusive rights for three years.
