For Snider, who owned and operated an antiques store in Gresham for many years, it’s a return to her business roots.
Snider closed down the Gresham shop in 2005, when she and her husband moved to Warrenton. After moving to the coast, she continued to supervise estate sales for her clients and also worked in local shops. But Snider said she missed the enjoyment of operating her own business.
“I like the one-on-one relationship with my customers and helping them find that one unique item,” Snider said.

Many of the vintage collectibles in her shop are from Snider’s long-time customers, including a 1905 china closet that has remained in one family since it was brand new and comes with the original sales receipt.
Snider said it helps to have that connection between the owner and the antique. “It puts a history to the piece,” she said.
Besides craftsmen-produced furniture, antique iron and brass beds, one-of-a-kind china sets and silver ware, and jewelry, the shop also features a large selection of vintage linens and an extensive collection of early 1900’s women’s shoes and hats.
Antiques by Reneé is located at 841 Broadway in Seaside. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The telephone number is (503) 738-5225.
