Well, ASTORIA’s done it again. This time, it’s a very long and favorable mention in a USA TODAY guest blog in the Pop Candy section, “How did I spend my vacation? Visiting ‘GOONIES’ filming locations!” by RYAN S. aka Spoodawg, of Sharpsville, Ind. (http://tinyurl.co/astoriaryan)

Ryan and his fiancee, SUZY, trudged all over Astoria seeking out and taking photos of local film locations. Not just a Goonies fan, he’s also besotted with “KINDERGARTEN COP” and “SHORT CIRCUIT” (among others).

Pictured above, Ryan “escaping” from the Clatsop County Jail (Oregon Film Museum).

Of course, the Goonie house was high on their travel agenda. “And yes, I did the Truffle Shuffle in front of the house,” he wrote, “which I have video of on my phone.”

Astoria was a big hit with the pair. “I hope to do another pilgrimage to other film locations, but it’ll be hard to top what we could see in just one town … All in all, it was a film lover’s dream come true.”
