Portions of the Columbia Memorial Hospital campus were under a state of heightened security lunchtime Thursday after a patient made a threatening call to the hospital.
All services are still available on the campus, but certain regular access points are now closed, said Paul Mitchell, the hospital’s marketing manager. Access to the hospital building is now restricted to the front doors of the emergency room
The Pavilion is only using its main entrance.
The patient who made the call has left the area, and law enforcement has been notified of the threat, Mitchell said.
“It’s more precautionary than anything else,” he added.
